Ashley sobs "If the coaches weren't here..." which inspires an onrush of agreement. Jenn tells her that this isn't real life, and that they don't do this in the real world. Shane advises her to play for herself not for her coach. She whines that this team thing isn't really teams. Jenn says that this is a guy's game. Shane adds that he thinks that there are people who are higher ranked in teams and the lower ranks are expendable. Ashley says that if Jenn weren't on Frank's team, she would have voted Frank out.
At this point, I don't know if this is a genuine bout of guilt or game strategy to set up Frank for next week. This also could have been prompted by the Willie bashing that was going on outside. She adds her remorse that if they had voted out Frank, the Willie debacle would not have happened. In their attempt to soothe her, they tell her Wil misses Kara too. Ashley says Wil is ruthless.
Then she drops the bomb: Frank and Ian have a final 2 deal, did you know this? When Jenn asks her who told her this, Ashley evades the issue which is dropped with more platitudes. She goes on to say that she feels Frank and Ian will "kill it", adding that she might be jumping to conclusions. Hmmm.
I sit here wondering where this is coming from. Is there an endgame to this? When Wil comes in to use the washroom, they try to continue this discussion but Ashley gestures for them to stop. She's let go of her "distress" long enough to try to cover herself. She's clearly not doing this with her team's sanction. Could she be setting herself up for a new alliance of her own, lining up all her dwarfs in a row, knowing that she's low on the team's totem pole?
The bathroom fills up with people and the discussion is dropped. But it's not over. Discussions like this have a way of spreading throughout the house. Saying things like that in front of members who are not on your team or your alliance (Let's face it. "Team Diversity" was a 5 minute alliance) will backfire, as they begin to around 9:27 PM BBT.
Jenn finds herself alone with Ian and whispers to him that she heard about a final 2 deal he has with Frank. He immediately denies it, saying that's a lie that Kara was trying to spread to protect herself when she was on the block. Jenn reveals that it's Ashley and he's incredulous but then says it makes sense because she pulled him in the Storage Room last week to ask him that very thing which he denied, saying it was day 4.
Later, around 10:05 PM BBT, Ashley and Danielle join Shane on the hammock. Danielle asks Ashley what's wrong. Shane tells her that he won't say anything about what happened in the bathroom. He reassures her that Janelle was working for her best interests up to now, but she counters that she's not too sure. Shane maintains the lone-wolf stance, prompting the other two to say he's not alone. He adds that Frank and Wil are going to go to the top. That clearly is strategy on his part, given the discussions we've been privy to between him and Frank. That's not going to stop him from trying to set up a safety net throughout the house. Ashley and Danielle are two valuable votes.
But what's Ashley's game? She says she doesn't connect with her teammates Joe and Wil who are not with her. She states that she isn't meshing with her team because she wants Frank to go next week. She calls Janelle fake which is prompted by Janelle's obvious closer connection with Wil. This insecurity was evident last week, an attitude that Willie tried to exploit for his needs, trying to widen this feeling of isolation from her team.
When Shane brings up Ian, Ashley emphatically states: I don't trust Ian. He is conniving and sneaky. He has a vindictive personality that people don't know about. This prompts Shane to say that if he wins HoH, he will put up Wil and Ian. He excuses this by saying that he doesn't want to be obvious by putting up two power houses. This is more than likely a smokescreen to hide his alliance with Frank; but we fans know, that once you float an idea out there, it will go floating to the wrong ears.
Ashley continues on her diatribe about getting Ian out whom she believes threw the HoH and is hiding how smart her is. He needs to go sooner than later. She then moves onto Joe whom she says she doesn't trust at all. It's hard to know what is motivating this since we don't have access to all the discussions in the house; but she might be trying to set up scenarios to target two of Mike's players while giving the impression that she's defecting from her team. If she's doing this without her team's knowledge, it will surely come back to bite her, making her a target next week. Shane takes this opportunity to state that he wants to bring Ashley, Danielle and Jenn to final 4, ensuring that he's the only "power house" in the house.
Body language tells all |
Meanwhile, Jenn has alerted Wil and Joe about Ashley crying and everything she said in the bathroom. This is continued later when Frank and Janelle join in and get this latest morsel of news. Frank says he wants to talk to Ashley. Looks like Snow White's jig is up; or is it?
By 10:57 PM BBT, Frank has brought her into HoH to reassure her that there is no final 2 deal (lie: he's talked about it with Shane), that he's an open book (an open BB book might as well be a vault), that he still loyal to their alliance (Team Dysfunctional aka Diversity) and that she can come to him anytime (because he needs to micromanage her).
Ashley is happy, having achieved not only the attention she craves, but also, seemingly, rising up in the ranks. But has she? Or has she proven herself a liability? She adds that she blew the whole thing out of proportion in her mind and regrets saying anything about a final 2 deal, meaning she regrets it was found out. She plays the I'm a girl so I'm emotional card, then goes on to blaming JoJo who said to her that it was a guy's game. During the course of this conversation, she's managed to throw JoJo and Shane under the wheels of the game's Mac truck. She's revealed everything Shane told her on the hammock.
A little later, Wil and Janelle come up to HoH. They go from reassuring her to challenging her about overreacting and how it appears to the others. She gets defensive saying she can't even be real in the house and express her concerns as a person without it being misinterpreted. That's right honey, this is the Big Brother house. Frank almost lost a vote last week because of a fart, let alone stirring up drama.
When Janelle leaves, the conversation turns against Jenn who as the messenger is shot, Ian who is suddenly too immature and Joe who is too untrustworthy. Wil insists that this recent meltdown makes her other team members are feeling badly because she was the one Janelle saved and now it looks like she's going against her team. She deflects this by saying she can't seem to do anything right. She can't talk to anyone without throwing suspicion her way. She does manage, during the course of this conversation to throw the blame on others.
The question remains, what was Ashley up to? Was she simply having a game meltdown and needed reassurance; or is this a carefully crafted maneuver to move up in the alliance's ranks? Whatever her motivations are, these kinds of shenanigans more often than note only succeed in one thing, making the person a target.
This is further reinforced when Ashley goes downstairs, leaving Wil and Frank to talk. They are onto her, questioning her motives. Wil is not having it. Janelle joins them shortly after; and when she asks what happened, he responds that Ashley is there to have a good time. Wil says he doesn't trust her because she doesn't have a filter. Janelle says she trusts her, but Wil does not agree. Sorry Snow, it seems you've tanked your game and achieved nothing.
Not knowing when to quit, Ashley joins Shane and JoJo in the Have Not room at 12:55 AM BBT to further bash her team with two players who are outnumbered and one likely going home this Thursday. It's official. Ashley ain't got game.
UPDATE:
11:40 AM BBT: Jenn talks to Ashley about this situation calmly, in front of JoJo, Danielle and Britney, after she asked Ashley to talk in the Arcade Room but being shut down. Ashley gets aggravated saying she should have kept it to herself and nothing can stay quiet in the house. (Welcome to Big Brother). After, repeatedly trying to smooth things over, Jenn gives up and goes inside to express her frustration to Janelle and Joe who are dumbfounded with Ashley.
Outside, Ashley is putting the blame on Jenn for telling her team about it. Britney tries to pull Danielle into the conversation, but Danielle says she doesn't like to involve herself in other people's business. Danielle 1, Ashley 0.
Jenn makes the rounds to JoJo and Shane in Have Not room, then to Wil in the Kicks Room. She voices her frustration with Ashley blaming her for spreading stories when all Jenn wanted to do was fact check. She doesn't like that Ashley refused to talk to her privately and iron things out. Wil says that all Ashley is doing is to cover her butt because she was caught doing something wrong, that she did that for attention. He adds this isn't summer camp.
He adds that last week she almost went against her team to ally herself with Willie, then she was given the key to reassure her that she's very much a part of the team, now she is ungratefully stirring trouble which will only hurt her own game. Wil is very much aware of the fact that Ashley went to talk to JoJo and Shane after their talk in HoH. He points out that all this is unnecessary because she's not on the block and she wasn't on anyone's radar. He tells Jenn that the reason they didn't talk to her as much last week was because she was spending all her time with Willie, Shane and JoJo. Now Wil considers her a liability and not someone to be trusted.
Stay Tuned! :) I'm out for the day, so feedsters, please keep an eye out. :)
